Meet Cyriel Roelofs, our HR Officer
Cyriel is 27 years old and lives in Heerlen. He works as an HR Officer with us. He did his internship with us during his final year of study in Human Resource Management at Fontys in Eindhoven, and subsequently joined our team after completing his internship. "I first encountered the field of HR when applying for a part-time job as a weekend assistant. During the interview, I thought to myself: it seems very interesting to be on the other side of the table. I then looked for a study that matched this interest, which ultimately led to the choice of HRM."
"I didn't feel like an intern at all, but rather a colleague."
"At Nedlin, I did my internship in the HR department. Even during my internship, I was involved in all aspects of personnel management, such as recruitment, absenteeism, employer branding, and policy. I was also involved in day-to-day tasks. They gave me all the opportunities to get to know the HR profession. So, I really didn't feel like an intern, but rather a colleague. And now, as a permanent HR employee, I get to continue contributing to the team."
Besides his work at Nedlin, he fills his free time with fun activities with his friends, such as having a drink or going out. "I've also been playing padel regularly with friends for about half a year now. In the summer, you can find me on the tennis court, preferably as often as possible."'
Cyriel's graduation research focused on employer branding within our production department. "I mapped out the values and needs of the production workers and whether this aligns with what Nedlin offers as an employer."

Cyriel experiences Nedlin as a welcoming environment. He feels, as he puts it, like part of the Nedlin family. "My father has been working with Nedlin for years, and my older sister also worked here for ten years. So, Nedlin wasn't unfamiliar to me when I was looking for a nice internship. It's great that I was able to come here for an interview, do my internship, and ultimately start working as an HR Officer. The atmosphere is just incredibly pleasant. The colleagues, the dynamics, and the close-knit relationships within the organization make me feel very much at home here. I've also experienced the opening of the new laundry facility and have been involved in the significant growth Nedlin is currently undergoing. It's really cool that I get to be a part of this."
