Meet Youri, our Operations Intern
Youri is 25 years old, lives in Beek, and has been an operations intern at Nedlin Industry in Hoensbroek since September. He is studying Technical Business Administration at Fontys University of Applied Sciences in Eindhoven. Youri is particularly interested in logistical processes. That's why, before starting his bachelor's degree, he completed a vocational education in Logistics. Now, he is doing a full-time internship and conducting various analyses for his graduation research.
"I knew who Nedlin was and that a new laundry was being built. So when I was looking for an internship, I immediately called Nedlin."
Through the digital highway and a friend who already worked at Nedlin, Youri found his way to us. Due to the opening of the new laundry and his interest in automation and technical processes, he was eager to join Nedlin. "I knew who Nedlin was and that a new laundry was being built. So when I was looking for an internship, I immediately called Nedlin."
The first weeks of his internship flew by quickly. He was immediately taken under the wing of Sander Simons, the plant manager, and was immersed in the entire process. "The first week was like an orientation week. I was guided very well by Sander and all the operators. Personally, I found this week very pleasant because everything was new to me. I could ask questions, and I was given time to understand the processes. I could also immediately contribute to the production planning. It doesn't feel like I'm just doing some tasks. I'm really conducting a graduation research."

For his internship, he is focusing on the research question: How can Nedlin increase the performance of the sorting unit? To answer this question, he conducts various analyses.
Are you looking for an internship? Youri definitely recommends an internship in Technical Business Administration at Nedlin. "I receive good guidance and have many research opportunities. Additionally, I have a lot of freedom, which I personally appreciate. The employees are really friendly, and the process I'm investigating is unique, which makes it very enjoyable."
